Description	:	Son of Jack and Evelyn (Harrell) Lasley. As a child, he moved to St. Louis and grew up playing hockey and following the local sports teams. In 1970, the family moved to Columbus. Jeff attended Columbus High, graduating in 1972. While there, he played baseball with the Junior Blues and was a kicker on the Columbus High School football team. Jeff attended the University of Kansas and Florida State University where he played football. He graduated from Florida State University in 1977. While there, he played baseball with the Junior Blues and was a kicker on the Columbus High School football team. Jeff attended the University of Kansas and Florida State University where he played football. He graduated from Florida State University in 1977. He married Sherry Glur at St. Luke's United Church of Christ on Aug. 15, 1975. Jeff later received his masters degree in education from Emporia State University in Kansas. He then pursued a career in which he dearly loved and enjoyed teaching and coaching. He taught and coached in Genoa and Monroe. He took the Genoa boys basketball team, nicknamed "The Cardiac Kids", to state, where they had not been in many years. After coaching, he pursued a career in human resources. He was a lover of dogs, and loved the outdoors where he would golf, hunt, and camp, with his friends and family. He also had a deep passion for fishing and enjoyed all of his fishing trips. He was a big fan of Florida State University and their athletic programs. Jeff had a deep love for cooking and having get togethers for all of his family and friends. He also enjoyed reading and studying history. He is survived by his son, Bryan Jeffrey Lasley, of Lincoln; one daughter, Brooke and her husband, Brandon Eckmann, of Norfolk; and one sister, Ann Lasley McNary, of Alexandria, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents.
