Moved to Indiana and located in Mooresville in 1830; was one of the oldest citizens at the time of her death. United with M.E. Church in 1838. She was a school teacher. Jemima had two other siblings; Lydia b. 1797 and Frederick Jr. b. 1799. When their mother died her oldest sister was 8, her brother was 6 and she was 5. Her father's family migrated from a Quaker community on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts to a Quaker community in Guilford, North Carolina to avoid the depredations of the Revolutionary War. After her mother died, her father remarried to Elizabeth Davis on 24 September 1806 in Greene Co., North Carolina (which became Jefferson Co., TN). They moved to another Quaker community in Highland Co., Ohio where they had 7 more children. Her stepmother, Elizabeth, died in 1835 in Hillsboro, Ohio and is buried in the Friends Mtg. House Cemetery there. Her father migrated to Indiana and is buried in the West Union Cemetery in Monrovia, Indiana. Contributor: D Forry (49912955)
