Read More	Source: The Victor Record 10/23/1958 Mrs. Harry Muller Dies At Marengo Hospital The death of Mrs. Harry Muller last Friday brought sorrow to all who knew her, and her loss will be deeply felt, not only in the home, but in church and community circles as well. She had recovered from previous illness in recent years, but failed to survive her most recent attack, although showing improvement for a time. Jennie May McBride, daughter of the late Rev. Oscar and Sarah Jane Lust McBride, was born at Reasnor, Iowa on Feb. 12, 1889, and passed away at the Memorial hospital in Marengo, Iowa on the evening of Oct. 17, 1958. She received her schooling in Jasper and Mahaska counties and was a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan college at Mt. Pleasant. For several years she taught home economics in the high schools at Hampton, Mt. Pleasant and Wapello, Iowa. On Sept. 9, 1929 she was married to Harry Muller of Victor and since that time had made her home in this community. Mrs. Muller joined the Methodist Church in early youth and throughout her life was active in all phases of its work. She was for many years president of the Women's Foreign Missionary Society and after the Methodist unification in 1939 served several years as Conference Supply Secretary for the Women's Society of Christian Service. In the local church she held various offices in the W.S.C.S., was chairman of the Commission on Missions, and teacher of one of the adult classes in the Church School, also served on the Memorial Committee of the church. Her community interests were not confined to her church, however, since she was a member of the Eastern Star and a Past Matron of that organization. She was also a member of the W.C.T.U. and the Woman's Club. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Helen, Mrs. Earl Thomas, of Decatur, Nebr.; one brother, W. L. McBride of Newton; one sister, Cora, Mrs. Clark Garrett of Toledo, Iowa; one son-in-law, Earl Thomas, and seven grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends. Services were held in the First Methodist church of Victor, Monday, Oct. 20 at two o'clock, with the pastor, Rev. N. F. Grote in charge. Arthur Lang sang two consoling hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. W. H. Bonn. Taking care of flowers were Mr. and Mrs. David Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Shine, and Mrs. Ed Bushnell. Pallbearers were Horace Wahl, Wayne Mathews, Roy Park, Alden Shultz, Arnold Bastian, and Merrill Felton. Arrangements were in charge of the McAninch Funeral Home and burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
