Eagle Grove Eagle Thursday, December 13, 1973 OBITUARY Jennie Christine Carlson was born February 5, 1887 at Excelsior, Iowa, the daughter of David and Matilda Larson Carlson. She was christened in 1888 at Pilot Mound, attended school there and was a graduate of Drake University with a degree in music. She was united in marriage to David Joel Christenson of Dayton on June 7, 1911 at Pilot Mound. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1961. They moved to Renwick in 1928 where they operated a bank. In 1953, they retired to Eagle Grove. Mrs. Christenson passed away on Wednesday, December 5, at her home in the Colonial Apartments after a lengthy illness age the age of 86 years and 10 months. She is survived by two daughters, Ruth, Mrs. Richard Obe, Webster City; Margaret, Mrs. Everett Perry, Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Roscoe Leonard, Dayton and Mrs. Fred Wahl, Boone; one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, David, who died in 1964. Mrs. Christenson was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church and the Order of Eastern Star. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 8, at 1 p.m. in the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Pastor P. Lauritz Mork officiated and burial was in the Dayton Cemetery, Dayton.
