Description	:	TUESDAY RITES FOR JENNIE SNELL Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 9 for Mrs. Jennie Snell, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 7 at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Groesser. Services were held at the Methodist church with Rev. Fred C. Gardner officiating. S.H. Harmon accompanied by Mrs. Harmon, sang “Master, Let Me Walk With Thee,” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.” Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery. Snell, daughter of Peter and Charlotte Anderson, was born at Kankakee, Ill., on July 31, 1879 and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Jeannette Groesser near Weeping Water on October 7, 1956, having attained the age of 77 years, 2 months and 7 days. In 1889 she moved with her parents to Cass County, Nebraska, where she resided continually except for 5 years when she lived at Sterling. On March 11, 1899, she was united in marriage at the home of her parents in Weeping Water to Henry A. Snell. To this union 3 children were born, Albert, Donald and Jeanette. Jennie was confirmed in the Danish Lutheran church as a child and was a member of the Danish Ladies Aid. While retaining her membership in the Danish Lutheran church, she was active and loyal in her support of the Methodist church of the community in which she lived. Jennie was a loving and devout mother and neighbor. She was loved by all who knew her and was known by all her neighbors and friends as Aunt Jennie. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, and her two sons, Albert and Donald. Left to mourn her passing are two sisters, Mrs. James E. Jenkins, Murray, and Mrs. Chris Snell of Omaha; her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Alvin of Weeping Water; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Blanche Snell of Plattsmouth; Neal's wife, Janet; one great-granddaughter, Linda Joy Snell of Plattsmouth; and a host of other relatives and friends. Aunt Jennie will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
