Although Mrs. Domingo had been ill for some two weeks, and received the most careful attention of physician and loved ones, the “Maker” said, “It is enough, come home.” Mary Anderson Domingo, daughter of Peter and Anna Marie [Johnson] Anderson, was born in Sister Bay, Wisconsin, November 3, 1862. When she was twelve years of age, she, with her father, moved to Kankakee, Illinois and grew to young womanhood in that place. At the age of seven years, her mother died, leaving four small children of which Mary was next to the oldest. In the year 1906, on the 2nd day of April, her father passed away. She came to Nebraska in 1883, settled in Weeping Water and on November 20, 1884 she was married to Jacob Domingo of Weeping Water. They drove to Lincoln by horse and buggy and were united in marriage at that place. To this union were born five children: Elenora Domingo Smith, Oscar E. and Frank J. all of Weeping Water, Nebraska. Alice Domingo Swindle of Hardin, Montana, and Clara Domingo Reed, the second oldest daughter, who passed away on January 3, 1922. Mr. and Mrs. Domingo moved to town from their farm in the spring of 1913. Her husband passed away June 13, 1925. Mrs. Domingo was confirmed in the Danish Lutheran church when a young girl, but of late years she has attended and supported the Congregational church of Weeping Water. Her christian training and character was a part of her every day life, her love and devotion to her children and home found unusual opportunities for service. She practically has raised three families of children. We merely mention the fact that when her daughter, Clara, passed away she took the responsibility of two grandsons made motherless at the age of 2 and 4 years. All of these children who have been blessed by her loving care and kindness will never forget her and her life with its many sacrifices for them, they will always remember. She was a wonderful mother, and her courage and fortitude carried them on through the hardships of the early Nebraska days. Although she has not been in the best of health the last few years, her death came somewhat as a shock, as she was sick only two weeks. The end did not find her unprepared for the last great change which has ushered her into the presence of her Maker, there to hear the “Well done of the faithful.” “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, from henceforth, yea saith the spirit that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them.” She passed away Monday, May 30, 1932 at 10:30 a.m. at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 27 days. She leaves to mourn her loss her immediate family, one brother, four sisters, nine grandchildren and a host of loving friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 1, 1932 from the First Congregational church of Weeping Water, Nebraska, at 2:30 p.m. Preceded by prayers from her late home, both being conducted by Rev. Ralph Pinkham, pastor of the church. A quartet composed of Messrs. C.V. Wallick, S.J. Ambler, Mrs. Francis Baldwin and Miss Alice Leone Ambler, sang very beautifully, with Mrs. Carl E. Day at the organ. The quartet sang “Lead Kindly Light,” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.” C.V. Wallick sang “In the Garden” which was very touchingly rendered. Pallbearers of the deceased were Messrs. George Domingo, Henry Snell, Chris Snell, Earl Jenkins, Chris Rasmussen, and Rasmus Lauritzen. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, under the direction of W.L.
