Jennie... Read More	Mrs. Robert Waterbury passed away last Friday evening, July 11, 1913, at the family home a mile and a half north of town, after a long illness of cancer of the stomach. For about a year she had been a sufferer from this dread malady. Last spring she underwent an operation at a Sioux City hospital, but it was of no avail. Returning home, she received every care and attention that loving hearts and hands could bestow, but only to await the coming of the Death Angel to mercifully strike off the shackles of earthly suffering and pain. Jennie Elizabeth Fowler was born in the city of Chicago, Ill., June 2, 1875, and died at the farm home in Union county, S. D., July 11, 1913, aged 38 years, 1 month and 9 days. When two years of age she moved with her parents to Webster City, Iowa, and in 1887, at the age of 12 years came to Sioux City, la., where she made, her home until her marriage. When fifteen years old she was converted and united with the Whitfield M. E. church of Sioux City, and in all lines of church work was an earnest, faithful worker. She took an active part in Sunday school work and for a number of years was a leader in Epworth League circles. On October 26, 1898, she was united in marriage to Robert Waterbury and together they began home life in Akron, la. In the spring of 1903 they moved to the farm, which was her home until the last summons came to relieve her of her intense suffering, which she endured for nearly a year. Of her it may be truly said that her faith was complete in a Divine power, believing all things were done for the best, and when she realized that she must leave her friends and home it was with a bright hope for the future and in singing and reading found consolation. Besides a devoted husband and six children—Hazel, Oliver, Robert, Ruth, Arch and Marion—she leaves an aged father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Fowler, of Sioux City, la.; a sister, Mrs. Dehlia Harrison, of Tyndall, S. D.; three brothers, George, of Omaha, Nebr., Frank C., of Kingsley, la., and Robert, of Sioux City, la, besides a host of friends who will miss her kindness and pleasant ways, but will cherish the remembrance of the noble and patient spirit that has taken flight to the realms of peace. To the members of this family so sadly bereaved the community offers its sincere sympathy and condolence. After a brief service at the home, the funeral was held Sunday afternoon in the Akron M. E. church and the seating capacity of the edifice was not sufficient -to accommodate all who assembled to pay a last tribute of respect. The local W. R. G., of which deceased was a member, attended In a body. Rev. R. L. Stuart conducted the service and spoke comfortingly to those bowed In grief. The M, E. choir and a male quartet sang. There were a number of beautiful floral offerings. A long procession followed the remains to Riverside cemetery, where interment was made. Relatives from a distance present at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Fowler, of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fowler, of Kingsley, la,; Mr. and Mrs. C. E.
