Interment was in LaValley Cemetery, Lennox, SD. Jennie F. Bruns was born on a farm east of Lennox, SD on Dec. 30, 1908, the daughter of Frank and Maggie (Bunger) Bruns. Bruns was born on a farm east of Lennox, SD on Dec. 30, 1908, the daughter of Frank and Maggie (Bunger) Bruns. She attended rural school near LaValley Church and also attended LaValley Sunday School. In 1942, Jennie moved into Lennox with her mother, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a housekeeper for several families and businesses in Lennox. She also did extensive interior painting and wallpapering. She became a resident of the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on Sep. 10, 1990. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Bruns; two half-brothers: John DeVries and Henry DeVries; three half-sisters: Ann DeVries, Katie Poppenga and Hilka Schmidt. Grateful for having shared her life are her brother, John F. Bruns and his wife Elfrieda, or rural Lennox; two nephews and their wives: Elroy and Violet Bruns of rural Harrisburg, and Donavon and Sandra Bruns of rural Lennox; one niece and her husband: Elaine and Daryl Moore of rural Harrisburg; her half-nephews and half-nieces and their spouses: Duane and Lois DeVries of rural Worthing, Kenneth and Ardell Penney of Omaha, NB., Ardyth DeVries of Holland, MI., Norman and Kathy Poppenga of Sioux Falls, and Margaret Harper of Sibley, IA.; plus many great-nieces and great-nephews, and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
