GEORGE NEILL Jennie Isobel Craig, daughter of Thomas and Jane Craig, was born in Jewel county, Kan., May 12, 1879, and died Sept. 30, 1943, at Los Angeles, Calif., at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 18 days. She was united in marriage to George James Neill Sept. 8, 1896. To this union nine children were born, of whom eight survive, one daughter, Izora, having preceded her in death. Most of their married life was spent in Pawnee City, with the exception of three years in Oregon, until 14 years ago, when they moved to Lincoln. As a child she was baptized into the United Presbyterian church and remained a member until after her marriage, when she became a member of the First Baptist church of Pawnee City. She was an active member of the church here until she transferred her membership to the First Baptist church in Lincoln, where she served in various activities. All her interests were centered in her home, her church and her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband; four sons, Harold of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Everett of Wymore, Ted of Talmage, and John, who is serving in the armed forces; four daughters, Mrs. Edith Killham of Lincoln, Mrs. Dorothy Sedam of Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. Margaret Snyder of Pawnee City, and Miss Jennie of Camp Stoneman, Calif.; one brother, Geo. Craig of Camas, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. C. D. Gates of Camas and Mrs. Walter Bennett of Portland, Ore.; 20 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends. ************************************************** THE PAWNEE CHIEF (Pawnee City, Nebraska)- Wednesday, October 6, 1943- Page 1. MRS. GEO. NEILL VICTIM OF HIT AND RUN DRIVER Instantly Killed in Tragic accident At San Fernando, Calif., Last Thursday Night. Mrs. Geo. Neill, a long-time resident of Pawnee county met death as she was stepping from a bus at San Fernando, Calif., last Thursday evening, near midnight. A victim of a hit and run driver, Mrs. Neill died instantly. With Mr. Neill, she had been visiting relatives on the coast for several months. They had visited a daughter, Mrs. Robert Sedam, at San Fernando, later going to Washington and Oregon, and were returning to the Sedam home when the accident occurred. Mr. and Mrs. Neill had spent nearly their entire lifetime in Pawnee City, moving to Lincoln about 15 years ago, where the former has been employed by the state department of roads and irrigation. Mrs. Neill was born in Jewell County Kansas, and was 63 years of age over thirty of which were spent in this community. Besides hr husband she is survived by eight children, Mrs. S. V. Killham of Lincoln; Mrs. Robert Sedam of San Fernando, Calif.; Miss Jennie, with the Red Cross at Camp Stoneham, Calif.; Mrs. Morris Snyder of Pawnee City; John, a sergeant in the army; Everett of Wymore; Ted of Talmage; and Harold of Council Bluffs, Ia. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from the Baptist church in Pawnee City at two o'clock with Rev. Wolcott of the First Baptist church of Lincoln in charge. Burial will be in the Pawnee City cemetery.
