Daughter of John Alfred Coons and Ida Belle Anderson OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, July 6, 1965 JENNIE HOLLINGSHEAD Jennie Mildred Hollingshead, daughter of John and Ida Coons, was born in Marietta, Ill., Aug. 13, 1907, and departed this life June 24, 1965, at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 11 days. She was united in marriage to Everett Hollingshead in Hannibal, Mo., June 1, 1927. To this union four children were born, 2 daughters and 2 sons. A long time resident of Chariton, she was a devoted housewife and mother. She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and became a member of the Assembly of God church in the year of 1930, and has devoted her entire life to working for the Lord. For the last 33 years she has assisted her husband in his ministry tasks at Confidence, Osceola, Chariton, Norwood, Lucas, Hamburg, Davis City and Milan, Mo. At the time of her death they were pastoring the Assembly of God church at Davis City. Preceding her in death were her parents, son Leland, sister Dorothy and granddaughter Laurie. She is survived by her faithful husband; two daughters, Mrs. Leola Kelsey of Newton, Mrs. Mildred Oxenreider of Chicago, Ill.; 1 son, Charles, at home; 3 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 2 sisters, Mrs. Stella Shelton of Chariton and Mrs. Lucille Myers of Ottumwa; two brothers, Rev. Lawson Coons of Lockport, Ill., and Ray Coons of Chariton, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Monday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God church in Chariton, with Rev. T. E. Gannon officiating. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Robbins, Mrs. Diane Hollinger, Mrs. Alma Stufflebeam and Mrs. Alma Lanferman. Pallbearers were Warren Sams, Jim Coy, Glen Reed, Larry Owens, Clair McChesney and William Tull. Interment was in the Bethel cemetery.
