Son of Joseph Charles "Charley" Hollingshead and Lucinda Vermillion Young OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, January 16, 1986 HOLLINGSHEAD Everett Arthur Hollingshead, son of Charles and Lucinda Hollingshead, was born in Hastings, Neb. on January 25, 1905. He passed away on January 5, 1986 at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 11 days at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital. Preceding him in death were his mother and father; 12 brothers and sisters; his first wife, Jennie; one son, Leland, one granddaughter; and one son-in-law, Don Kelsey. He was married to Mrs. Elma Tollefson on December 21, 1975 at Newton. Everett is survived by his wife, Elma of Chariton; a son, Charles of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Leola Kelsey of Newton and Mrs. Mildred Oxenreider of Cedartown, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Opal Wells of Chariton; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour in 1930. He has been an Assembly of God Minister for 53 years. He started many churches and pastored in Lucas, Norwood, Osceola, Hamburg, Confidence, Corydon and Chariton and Milan, Mo. His last pastorate was Davis City, Iowa where he pastored for ten years. In his younger years, he trucked for a living and later had a mattress factory and furniture store in Chariton. Services were held Thursday, Jan. 9, 1986 at the Assembly of God Church in Chariton with the Rev. Jack Moody and the Rev. Eugene Sparks conducting. Bearers were Marvin Hollingshead, Larry Shelton, Elmer Mays, Edward Adcock, Bob Etter and Bob Woodcock. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery.
