Description	:	Big Timber Pioneer, 8 July 1987 Jennie Rose Miller, 92, passed away Sunday, July 5, 1987, at the Pioneer Nursing Home in Big Timber where she had been a resident since May 1970. Jennie was born March 16, 1895, at White Sulphur Springs, the daughter of John and Jane Harper. Her parents moved from White Sulfur Springs to the Parberry Ranch on the American Fork, then to Fish Creek where they purchased their own place. Read More	Big Timber Pioneer, 8 July 1987 Jennie Rose Miller, 92, passed away Sunday, July 5, 1987, at the Pioneer Nursing Home in Big Timber where she had been a resident since May 1970. Jennie was born March 16, 1895, at White Sulphur Springs, the daughter of John and Jane Harper. Her parents moved from White Sulfur Springs to the Parberry Ranch on the American Fork, then to Fish Creek where they purchased their own place. Jennie attended the Duffy Schol and the Melville School. She purchased her sister's homestead on Fish Creek and maintained her home there until her marriage to Louis Miller on March 11, 1919, at Harlowton. They lived in Harlowton and moved to Big Timber about 1940 but continued to maintain the homestead as a retreat. Most of their married life was spent working for various ranches as a couple in the Melville - Harlowton area. Jennie was an avid horsewoman and did a lot of riding for ranches and checking stock in her younger days. Her honeymoon was spent rounding up cattle for neighbors. She was the last surviving member of the John Harper family, being preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters, her parents, husband, and a son, Rae. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowry Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Countryman of the Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Carl Alt, Ray Bainter, William Donald, Charles Erickson, Chuck Harper, and Tack Van Cleve. Honorary bearers are all of her friends. Soloist will be Ken Nelson and organist will be Jennie Roys. The selections will be "The Old Rugged Cross," and "This Is My Father's World." Memorials may be given to the Pioneer Home.
