Description	:	Parents of Charles Herbert, George Albert, Nellie Mae, and Fred Eli. Jeremiah Hobbs Towle was born March 17, 1832 at Windham, Maine. He later lived near Thorndike. While in Maine, he was the captain of a commercial fishing ship. He was married May 1, 1855 to Harriet Moulton. Two children, Charles Herbert and George Albert, were born in Maine. They traveled by train and homesteaded near Wakefield, Kansas (Clay County) in 1868. Two additional children, Nellie May and Fred Eli, were born in Kansas. Jeremiah and Harriet were buried in the cemetery at Wakefield. AT REST Died, Jeremiah Towle, on Saturday evening, January 26, 1907. Mr. Towle was born in Windham, Maine, March 17, 1832. He was married to Miss Harriet Moulton in 1855, and in 1869 came to Kansas locating on the farm where he has made his home until death claimed him. He leaves a wife and two sons to mourn his loss, who have the sympathy of many friends in their sad affliction. The funeral was conducted at the home by Rev. Lacy, where many friends and relatives gathered to pay him a last farewell, after which the remains were interred in the Wakefield cemetery. (Wakefield News) .
