Pallbearers were Thomas Timoney, William Ward, Lawrence McGowen, Leonard Gannon, James Lambe and Florain Geiger. The son of the late Michael Gray, he was born August 4, 1871 on a farm near Ulysses. He died Wednesday, February 25, 1953, at a David City hospital, following an illness of several months. Mr. Gray was married to Miss Nellie Morrison in 1899. They were the parents of five children. Those surviving are Edward Gray of Rivera, Calif., and Gerald Gray of Grand Island. Other survivors include five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, Owen and John, one daughter, Mary Ellen, dying in infancy, and a brother, Owen. Mr. Gray grew to manhood and spent his entire life in this community and was engaged in farming on his father's farm near Ulysses. He gave up farming several years ago and since then, has lived in David City and Ulysses, and spent the past 14 years in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Alcorn. Those coming from a distance to the services were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schmitt and Jimmie and Tom Gray of Havelock.
