Jerry Joseph Dubsky Sr was born on June 2, 1922 at Schuyler, Nebraska to Joseph, Sr. and Emma (Knap) Dubsky. Jerry was one of 12 children, 8 girls and 4 boys. He grew up in Schuyler, Nebraska and joined the U.S. Marine Corp at age 17 and served during World War II. Jerry married Janet V. Johnson on January 27, 1945. Jerry worked with his brothers and father at Dubsky's IGA in Schuyler. Later, they lived in Colorado and Wyoming where Jerry worked as a manager for Safeway Stores, Inc. They returned to David City, Nebraska in 1974, where they owned and operated Dubsky's Bar, David City, Nebraska. Jerry always had a good story or joke to tell. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Nebraska, VFW, American Legion and St. Mary's Catholic Church, David City, Nebraska. Jerry loved being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed caring for his flowers and afternoon rides on his scooter with his dog, Archie. Jerry is survived by: children, JaNae Smith of Aurora, Colorado; Janel (Doug) Dumbrill of Gillette, Wyoming, Jerry Joseph "Joe" < Jr. Dubsky of Harrisburg, South Dakota, Jay (Colleen) Dubsky of Schuyler, Nebraska, Jeff Dubsky of Fremont, Nebraska and JanaLee (Terry) Hale of Minneapolis, Mibbesota; sister: Ruthie Stuchl of David City, Nebraska; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by: parents; wife, Janet V. Dubsky in 2008, brothers, Art, Neil and Frank Dubsky and sisters, Marie, Lucille, Margarite, Genevieve, Martha, Ella and Dorothy. Burial was in Schuyler Cemetery, Schuyler, Nebraska.
