McDonald, 84, Missoula, died Dec. 13, 1986, at a Great Falls hospital. Services were held Monday in Great Falls with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Fort Benton. Born in Great Falls, he attended schools in Fort Benton, Helena, Raynesford, and Cascade, and high school in Great Falls. His family had homesteaded in the Highwood mountains. McDonald, 84, Missoula, died Dec. 13, 1986, at a Great Falls hospital. Services were held Monday in Great Falls with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Fort Benton. Born in Great Falls, he attended schools in Fort Benton, Helena, Raynesford, and Cascade, and high school in Great Falls. His family had homesteaded in the Highwood mountains. He worked in a gold mine at Lincoln and for Western Union and Northern Pacific Railroad in Helena. He and Esther May Allen were married July 3, 1926 in Fort Benton. He began carrying mail at Highwood in 1925, sometimes delivering to his rural patrons by auto, horseback, sled or skis. He became a rural carrier in 1952 upon moving to Great Falls. He retired in 1963. He and his wife traveled for 10 years before moving to Darby in 1968 and Missoula in 1985. Survivors include his wife of Missoula; a son, Jesse McDonald, of Great Falls, and a daughter, Mrs. Bruno (Bonnie) Pacini of Great Falls. --- Parents: Frank McDonald and Susie Bright
