Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, May 30, 1941 - pg. 1 Jesse Roy Koontz Jesse Roy Koontz, son of Roy and Hettie Koontz, was born at Nelson, Nebraska, May 2, 1914, and passed away at Scottsbluff, Nebraska, May 18, 1941, at the age of 27 years and 16 days His early boyhood was spent in Nelson, Nebraska. He moved to Alma, Nebraska, with his parents in 1929 where he attended high school, graduating with the class of 1933. He was married to Estaline Martin of Orleans, Nebraska, November 4, 1933. To this union was born one daughter, Patsy Ann, August 2, 1936. He engaged in the restaurant business at Naponee, Nebraska, four years. At the time of his death he was employed by the Storz Co. of Omaha, Nebraska. Jesse united with the Christian Church at Alma, Nebraska, during his freshman year in high school. He was a true friend, a kind husband and father and a source of help and comfort of his mother. Those of his immediate family who mourn his untimely death are his wife, Mrs. Estaline Koontz, and daughter, Patsy Ann, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; his father, Roy Koontz, and mother, Mrs. Hettie Koontz of Edgar, Nebraska; two brothers, Staff Sergeant Kenneth Koontz, stationed at San Francisco, California; Robert Koontz of Denver, Colorado;A also his grandfather, Jacob Koontz, of Nelson, Nebraska. He leaves other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held in the First Presbyterian Church at Edgar, Nebraska, Thursday, May 22, 1941, at 2:30 p.m. John W. Kile was in charge of the services. Harold McGhie sang "Beautiful Isle" and "There Is Just a Shadow Between." Ruth Mary McGhie was at the organ. Pallbearers were: Wilbur Shipley, Wayne Johnson, Martin Saum, Edward Stahl, Virgil Doll and Leonard Gunn. Interment was made in the Nelson Cemetery.
