Description	:	Jesse was the oldest son of Thomas and Alpharetta Johnson Pitchford. The Pitchford family suffered from a measles outbreak in 1880. Thomas and Alpharetta and their infant son, also named Thomas, all died of measles. It's possible Jesse died before 1880. He was 2 yrs old on the 1875 census, but he is gone before 1880. Thomas and Alpharetta and their infant son, also named Thomas, all died of measles. It's possible Jesse died before 1880. He was 2 yrs old on the 1875 census, but he is gone before 1880. I don't know if he also died of measles around the same time as his parents or if he died sometime earlier of something else. I've put 1880 as the death date for simplicity, but I can't say for certain that he didn't die prior to 1880. Like his baby brother Thomas, I don't know for a fact that Jesse is buried in the Liztown Cemetery (what the locals call it), because there's no stone. But I'm pretty sure he is. The family lived nearby and both his parents were buried there when they died in 1880. I suspect Jesse was buried there also. He may have never had a stone, or if he did, it's been destroyed and is no longer there. As with his brother Thomas, my guess is there probably never was a stone and the family buried the little boys there and marked their graves with a wooden marker or something that is no longer there today.
