Description	:	Jessie Jean Philson was born to Thomas Patton and Alice Carson Patton on April 13, 1908, at Fairmont. She passed away March 3, 1998, at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 20 days. Jessie was one of four children in the family. She attended school in Fairmont and graduated from the Fairmont High School. Following graduation, she took employment for the Telephone Company in Fairmont. Read More	Jessie Jean Philson was born to Thomas Patton and Alice Carson Patton on April 13, 1908, at Fairmont. She passed away March 3, 1998, at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 20 days. Jessie was one of four children in the family. She attended school in Fairmont and graduated from the Fairmont High School. Following graduation, she took employment for the Telephone Company in Fairmont. During the war years she worked as "Gray Lady" at the Fairmont Airbase. The family moved to Grand Island, Broken Bow, Lincoln and then returned to Fairmont. Jessie assisted her husband for many years in operating the Philson's Thriftway Market. Jessie was married to Gailard A. Philson of Fairmont on November 3, 1928, and to them two children were born. Before ill health required that she enter Fairview Manor in October of 1994, Jessie was very active in her community. She had a keen wit and sharp mind. She enjoyed church, where she was active in all related activities. She belonged to the Kensington and Rebekah Lodge. Her leisure hours were spent in cooking, sewing, reading and with her family and friends. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Alice Patton; her husband, Gailard in October of 1987; son, Max Philson of Lakewood, Col.; infant grandson, Jay Rodysill of Grand Island; one brother and two sisters. She is survived by daughter, Janice Rodysill and husband, Jack of Grand Island; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Philson of Lakewood, Colorado; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Fairmont Community Church on Friday, March 6, 1998 with Rev. Laura Bartels officiating. Deloris Swartz provided the prelude and postlude organ selections. Vocal selections were "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Precious Memories." Casket bearers were Gene K. Jackson, James K. Jackson, Chris Nichols, Dale R. Philson, Greg Philson and Jade Rodysill.
