Description	:	Funeral services for Jessie L. Fox were held Wednesday, December 16, at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach with the Rev. Verna Buell officiating. Mrs. Bernard McIntyre and Mrs. Victor Grossart sang, "Sunrise", "In the Garden", and "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" accompanied by Miss Bonnie McIntyre at the organ. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at Wolbach. Casketbearers were Bernard McIntyre, Dale Barr, Thomas McIntyre, Carl Anderson, Steve Grossart and Bill Zyntek. McIntyre-Jacobson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Jessie L. Fox, daughter of John and Sinnia Gregg Lowe, was born December 4, 1883 at Red Oak, Iowa. She departed from this life on December 11, 1981 at Omaha, Nebraska at the age of the 98 years. As a small child, Jessie came to Wolbach with her family, and it was here that she grew up and received her education. Jessie was a graduate from the Wolbach High School and later taught school in Howard and Greeley County Rural Schools. On June 30, 1914, she was united in marraige to John R. Fox in Iowa. The couple made their home in Wolbach. Jessie taught school in Burwell and Wolbach, retiring when she was in her 80's. Later she worked for the library in Wolbach. Jessie was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wolbach. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ella Mae Fox of Red Cloud; three sisters, Arthelia Ramsey of Ord, Nebraska, Mrs. Keturah Aufderheide of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Mrs. Rubye (Arthur) Sperry of Caldwell, Idaho; a brother, Harold Lowe of Richmond, California; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John R; her son John G.; seven sisters and four brothers. The Wolbach Messenger Wolbach, NE Thursday, Dec. 17 1981 Additional information: Grandma Jessie always said that she was born NEAR Red Oak, Montgomery County, Iowa. However, I've been unable to find any records. I did find that her brother Trevor was born near Henderson in the north east corner of Mills County which is just across the line from Montgomery Co. so I am thinking she was born NEAR Red Oak (which was a larger town at the time). . . however in Mills Co. and NOT Montgomery co. Following Jessie and John's marriage, they lived a few years on a farm near Auburn, Ill. not far from where the John R. Fox's family lived. It was there that their only son, John Garner was born in 1916. Being homesick for her family, Jessie, John and John G. moved back to Nebraska prior to John G. being school age. Jessie's last residence was a nursing home in Grand Island. When she became ill, she was transported to an Omaha hospital where she later died. Jessie's grandchildren, Bruce and Kay attempted coming to the funeral. But because of blizzard like conditions had to return to Kay's home in Bellevue, NE with Bruce returning to his home in California.
