Description	:	John G. Fox, only child of John R. and Jessie Fox, was born July 16, 1916 at Auburn, Illinois. He departed this life March 20, 1973. The family moved to a farm in Howard County, Nebraska when John was a small child. John was graduated from the Wolbach High School and attended the University of Nebraska prior to serving 4 1/2 years in the U. S. Navy during WWII. John was graduated from the Wolbach High School and attended the University of Nebraska prior to serving 4 1/2 years in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He also attended and was graduated from the Fox Business College in Chicago, Illinois. In 1952, he was graduated from the University of Nebraska, College of Agriculture. Following a brief training as an Agricultural Extension Agent in Cuming County, Nebraska, he came to Webster County as Extension Agent July 1, 1953, where he was serving at the time of his death. John completed work for the Master's Degree in Education at the Colorado State University in 1968. Early in his youth, John became a member of the Methodist Church in Wolbach and transferred to Red Cloud after moving here. He served the church in official capacities, and was currently serving as a Trustee. He was also active in the Red Cloud Lions Club and was a past president of the Club. He was a member of the Nebraska Cooperative Extension Association and of the National Association of County Agricultural Agents. He was a member of the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben; a current director of the Red Cloud Chamber of Commerce; and a member of the American Legion and past Commander of both the Red Cloud Post and the Wolbach Post. His wife, Ella Mae; a son, Bruce R. Fox; daughter, Kay Fox; mother Jessie Fox; grandson Bradley R. Fox, and daughter-in-law, LaVonda Meyer Fox, survive. His father preceded him in death in 1930. Funeral services were held in the United Methodist Church in Red Cloud with the Rev. Frank Schroeder and the Rev. Paul J. Johnson officiating. Music was furnished by Austin Cramer, Edsel Pope, George Kleen, and John English, accompanied by Mrs. Betty Rasser, organist. Honorary pallbearers were Clifford Phillips, Clarence Crowell, Doug Zuellner, Ilef Vance, Jr., Harlan Siebrass, and Ernest Heinrich. Pallbearers were Stan Offner, Duaine Eldred, Ralph Ferebee, Ralph Fisher, Rundall Peterson and Lawrence Tremain. Internment was in the Hillside Cemetery, Wolbach, Nebraska, with a brief service by the Rev. Paul J. Johnson and a Military Service by the Wolbach American Legion Post. Red Cloud Chief, March 1973.
