Deceased was the daughter of the late George and Louise McGregor, of Torbrook, and widow of the late Omar Stoddart, who predeceased her five years ago. She is survived by her six children (Hilda) Mrs. Kenneth Chute, Margaretville; Arthur, Chicago, Ill.; Norman, Kingston Village; (Lucy) Mrs. G.B. Tomalty, Waltham, Mass.; Ralph of West Virginia; and two sisters, Mrs. Elburn Ward, Tremont, and Mrs. Jas. Uhlman, Torbrook; also five grandchildren. The deceased had a prolonged illness and during that time she was tenderly cared for by her children, Max, Norman and Mrs. Chute, who did all that loving hands could do to alleviate her suffering and make life pleasant. When a young girl she united with the Baptist Church, and ever since has kept her faith. She had a very mild and loveable disposition, which made her many friends. Her long illness was borne with true Christian fortitude, and while she would like to have recovered, she said, “If it was the Lord’s will, she was willing to go, believing she would meet her Saviour “face to face,” so of her it can be truly said: “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.” The funeral services, which were largely attended, were held from her late residence, Saturday afternoon, December 10th, at 2 o’clock, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Sidey, of Kingston, officiating, and who spoke very comforting words from Hebrews 2:10. The choir sang very appropriately and softly “Face to Face” and “Does Jesus Care?” and solo “Good Night and Good Morning” was rendered very feelingly by H.M. Bowlby. The floral tributes were beautiful testifying to the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Interment was in the family plot at Torbrook beside her husband.
