Description	:	Jewell grew up on the family farm west of St. Edward and attended country school before he transferred to St. Edward Public School where he graduated in 1951. In his spare time, Mr. Niemann honed his skills as a mechanic working for his grandfather, Otto Nelson, at Otto Nelson's International Harvester & Chevrolet garage in St. Edward until he entered the U.S. Army on May 4, 1953. Read More	Jewell grew up on the family farm west of St. Edward and attended country school before he transferred to St. Edward Public School where he graduated in 1951. In his spare time, Mr. Niemann honed his skills as a mechanic working for his grandfather, Otto Nelson, at Otto Nelson's International Harvester & Chevrolet garage in St. Edward until he entered the U.S. Army on May 4, 1953. October 4, 1953, he married Karen Olive Martin at the St. Edward Presbyterian Church and they were blessed with four children. They lived in Lawton, Oklahoma at Fort Sill Army Base until he was shipped to Hokaido, Japan where he was stationed for one year during the Korean War. After returning home, Mr and Mrs. Niemann lived in St. Edward where he worked for Otto Nelson and later his uncle, LeRoy "Dale" Nelson. In 1975, he started working at Kayton International until he retired in 1993 as a shop foreman. Mr. Niemann enjoyed traveling, swap meets, building half scale tractors and collecting pedal tractors and showing them in many parades. He also worked several years as a maintenance man at the Nebraska State Fair with a local group of men. He is survived by his wife, Karen; four children, Lindsey Niemann and his wife, Lyn, of Lincoln, Tami Jenkins and her husband, Kenny, of St. Edward, Sandy Dubas and her husband, Joe, of Lincoln and Sandy Maslonka of St. Edward; eight grandchildren and four great-grandsons; and sister, Marlene Crow and husband Cecil of Pueblo, Colorado. He was preceded in deth by his parents; brother, LeRoy Nieann; and sister-in-laww, Sandi (Strain) Niemann.
