Joan Olga Comstock was born in Hand County, South Dakota on April 15, 1933, to Adolph and Clara (Hargens) Kerber. She attended country school in northern Hand County, and graduated from Miller High School in 1953. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Joan Olga Comstock was born in Hand County, South Dakota on April 15, 1933, to Adolph and Clara (Hargens) Kerber. She attended country school in northern Hand County, and graduated from Miller High School in 1953. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On October 12, 1957, she married John Comstock at the Trinity Lutheran parsonage at Miller. They lived in several states, returning to Hand County in 1981. In the fall of 1997, she moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas to be near their son. She is survived by her husband; a son, Glen, of Ft. Smith; one brother, Arnold (Joy) Kerber of Golden, Colorado; three sisters, Eloise (Arnold) Lukes and Rhoda (Don) Rombough, both of Miller, and Jeanne (Marlin) Lundholm of Ruthton, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harlan and Gerald Kerber; and two sisters, Doris and Frances Kerber. Funeral: Reck Funeral Home, Miller, SD, Wednesday, May 6, 1998. Officiating: Rev. Gary D. Anderson. Burial: GAR Cemetery, Miller, SD.
