She was born on July 6, 1924 in Carol, Ohio, the daughter of Fred and Nellie (White) Carpenter. Beloved, precious mother and wife; she served her family with love, dedication and care. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert Paul Freeman, four sons: Gerald Freeman (Donna), Roger Freeman (Terry), Tim Freeman (Sharon), and Dan Freeman (Debbie) and three daughters: Martha Hamilton (Ronnie), Bonnie Freeman, and Judy Highfill (Troy), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sue Hammond (Donald), her sister Mary Drum (Lewis) and her brothers, Cecil (Fern) and Lawrence Carpenter. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the compassionate caregivers, nurses and Doctor Jerald Dudney, at the Forest Glenn Health Campus, and Sherry Jennings with Blackstone Home Care. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Joan's life, will be held on Saturday, November 30,2013 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME, prior to the funeral, which will be held at 11:00 am with Pastor Rick Clos officiating, followed by a short grave side service at Rose Hill Burial Park.
