Description	:	Joanne L. Miller, 84, of Sterling, died Monday, May 8, 2017, in Sterling. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at Tennant Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Witherspoon officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Joanne was born Dec. 20, 1932 to Alexander J. Miller and Minnie (Bettger) Miller in Sterling. She attended Franklin Elementary School in Sterling and Lake Junior High in Denver. Brian Witherspoon officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Joanne was born Dec. 20, 1932 to Alexander J. Miller and Minnie (Bettger) Miller in Sterling. She attended Franklin Elementary School in Sterling and Lake Junior High in Denver. She graduated from Sterling High School with the class of 1950. On March 4, 1951 she married Edwin J. Miller in Sterling. They farmed and fed cattle in the Atwood area for more than 50 years. Joanne was actively involved in the Zion Congregational Church in Sterling since 1951 serving many times as Sunday School teacher, secretary and treasurer. Over the years she enjoyed coaching softball, bowling and playing golf, and was a 4-H leader for many years. Joanne was devoted to her family and is survived by a daughter, son three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin and her parents. Memorials may be made to the Zion Congregational Church. Memorials may be made in Joanne’s name to the Zion Congregational Church in care of Tennant Funeral Home, PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
