Description	:	Joel was the son of Amasa L. and Mary L. Cook of Edmunds and Dennysville. Joel married Elizabeth Caroline Hancock of Eastport in 1849. He and wife Elizabeth C. were in the census with his parents in 1850. By 1860 they had moved to Cooper Maine. Joel was 30 and wife Elizabeth 33 and they had children Amasa 9, Mary 7, Rose E. and Elizabeth 3. Joel was a lumberman. Cook of Edmunds and Dennysville. Joel married Elizabeth Caroline Hancock of Eastport in 1849. He and wife Elizabeth C. were in the census with his parents in 1850. By 1860 they had moved to Cooper Maine. Joel was 30 and wife Elizabeth 33 and they had children Amasa 9, Mary 7, Rose E. and Elizabeth 3. Joel was a lumberman. By 1870 they had moved back to Edmunds and Joel, still a lumberman, was age 39 and owned his home. Elizabeth C was 41 and children Amasa 19, Mary L. 17, Ellen (Rose) 15, Lizzie 14 and they had added two additional children to the family, Charles P 8 and Olive E 4. In 1880 the family was in Dennysville and Joel was now 49 and a farmer and truckman, Elizabeth 51, Amasa W 29, a sailor, and Olive E 14 at school. Joel and Elizabeth divorced and he was living in Machiasport when he died at age 70 of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was buried in the Village Cemetery at Dennysville. Elizabeth died in Concord, Mass in 1913 and was buried there.
