Read More	Henry Willer, Sr. Called by Death Friday Morning Rites Held Sunday for Well Known Akron Farmer and Stockman Henry Willer Sr. a resident of Akron vicinity for many years and widely known throughout this section as a farmer and extensive stock feeder passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital Sioux City, Iowa at 10:30 o'clock Friday morning November 23, 1945, at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 14 days. His death came unexpectedly, as it was not supposed that he was dangerously ill. Johannas Henry Willer was born at Bannesdorf in Germany, February, 1864. When he was 14 years of age he came to America and lived with relatives in Benton County, Iowa near Vinton. On January 9, 1888 he was united in marriage with Matilda Jungklaus. Shortly after their marriage they came to Plymouth County and engaged in farming near Akron, Iowa. Mr. Willer bought land about six and half miles south of Akron, Iowa in Westfield township; and kept increasing his holding until at one time he had about thirteen hundred acres of land. He not only engaged in farming on a large scale but was an extensive buyer and feeder of cattle and other stock, and was probably the biggest stock shipper in Northwest Iowa at one time. During a period from 40 to 50 years ago, it was nothing for Henry Willer to ship an entire trainload of fattened cattle to Chicago market, and at times he had as high as 2000 head of stock on feed. After the death of his wife in 1931, he discontinued farming, going to Adrian, Minn., where he lived four years. He then moved to Long Beach, Calif. and resided there until a few months ago, when he returned to Akron, Iowa, on account of poor health. Mr. Willer is survived by two daughters and three sons; Mrs. Anna Stracke of Stuart, Nebr., Mrs. Clara Hunt of Worthington, Minn., John L. and Henry S. Willer of Akron, Frank Willer of LeMars, Iowa. One daughter, Mrs. Emma Wonser and one son Theodore, preceded him in death. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. E. C. Heckt of Hardwick, Minn. and two brothers, Charles Willer of Akron and Nick Willer of Pipestone, Minn. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jergen Willer; three brother Hans, Julius and Peter and a sister Lena. A man of Jovial disposition, good hearted and generous to a fault, Mr. Willer was fair and square in dealing with his fellow man. As a neighbor he was helpful and accommodating as many will testify. Funeral services, held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Akron Methodist Church, were largely attended, and were conducted by Rev. A.A. Howe. Hymns were sung by a male quartet comprised of JA Jenson, Clifford Johnson, Harry B. Nelson, and HJ Behrner. The pallbearers were JJ Aalfs, Will Jammerthal, Ed Blum, John Henrich, Wyatt and Frank Reemts. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were Nick Willer and three sons of Pipestone, Minn; Mr. and Mrs. EC Heckt of Hardwick, Minn. and Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Stracke of Stuart, Nebr.
