Description	:	Johannes Martin Petersen Johannes was born in Dannebrog, Howard, Nebraska on June 2, 1892. His parents were Martin and Johanna Marie Petersen. Rasmus Peter Skriver Rasmussen was Johannes' step-father. In 1913 Johannes married Fredericka Amelia Enevoldsen. They had four children; Myrtle Sine, Martin Carl, Ralph Roy and Arnold Raymond. At some point the couple divorced. Johannes entered the Ingleside Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska. This is where he passed away on March 23 1943. The reason for him being in this hospital is unknown. It was a hospital for the incurably insane, however, at that point in time people were placed in these places for such things as epilepsy, sunstroke, grief, small pox, laziness, and so on. Reasons such as these would not be used to place someone into one of these hospitals today. Johannes was preceded in death by his father, Martin Petersen and a young sister, Mabell Lydia Petersen. A funeral service was held for Mr. Petersen at the Lutheran church with Rev. L.C. Hansen officiating. He was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Dannebrog. All of the Petersen children used the surname Baldwin after this. It is not known if Mr. Baldwin adopted the children legally and no documentation has been found that would prove that he had. The descendants of Johanne's children all retained the surname of Baldwin.
