Dad was born September 30, 1913, near Brewster, WA, to Fred and Allie "Alice" (Aungst) Thrapp; both preceded him in death at a very young age. Dad and his sister were raised by their stepfather, "Steve" Keith. Dad married our mother, Alberta Beatrice Dowell, September 3, 1937, and she preceded him in death in 1975. Dad then married Edna May Wright May 21, 1983, who preceded him in death in 2007. Dad worked many years for the Gamble Lumber Company and then completed his working years for the Brewster School District. He thoroughly enjoyed the children and teachers at the school. The children and teachers who knew him remember him with fond memories, with some keeping in contact with him even after his move to Sutherlin, OR. He lived 90 years in the Brewster and Pateros area and then moved to live with his daughter, Vicki, in Sutherlin, OR, for four and a half years before moving back to Wenatchee in March of 2008. Survivors include two sons, Keith (Helen) Thrapp of East Wenatchee and Virgil (Becky) Thrapp of Graham, WA; a daughter, Vicki (Richard) Smith of Sutherlin, OR; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren from his first marriage. With his second marriage came stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Inurnment will be held at the Brewster Cemetery, preceding a Memorial Celebration for Jack Thrapp planned for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Brewster Senior Center.
