Final Rites for John A. Gunn. John A. Gunn of 11 Russell Street, Plymouth was stricken ill Sunday August 25 and rushed to the Plymouth Hospital where he died about four hours later. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Plymouth Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth R. Boyden officiating. Burial was in Green Grove Cemetery in Ashland. Bearers were Lewis Downing, Warren Randlett, Fred Hussey, James Farley, Malcolm MacKenzie and Edwin Chase. John was born January 17, 1913 in Bedford. He was married to Evelyn Fosie in June 1933. The family came to Plymouth in 1946 from Ashland where the family had lived for several years. He was employed for several years at the Scott & Williams Co., factory in Laconia, and until a week ago with the O.A. Miller Co, in Plymouth. Just a week ago he had accepted a position at the Plymouth State College. He was a veteran of World War II, in which he served in the U.S. Army. John will be greatly missed in the community by his host of friends. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Evelyn (Fosie) Gunn; one son, S/Sgt. John A. Gunn, U.S.A.F., of Topsham, Maine, one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Faye Fowler of Amlin, Ohio; one brother, Frank Smith of Manchester; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Erickson of Concord and Nancy Roby of Derry; and four grandchildren. Heartfelt sympathy is extended the bereaved family in the loss of their loved one. >The Plymouth Record, August 29, 1963. John was adopted by John and Addie Gunn of Ashland.
