Mr. Cole, a resident of Lyon County since 1907, has been in the restaurant business since the early 1920's, and for several years he had owned and operated two cafes on the 1100 block of Commercial Street--Cole's Nunber 1, the former Tuhey cafe, and Cole's Number 2, his first restaurant, which he purchased in 1923. The son of J. Wiley and Katie Morris Cole, J. Arthur Cole was born Marc 3, 1888 in Springfield, Ill., and he was married to Myrtle Vestal in December, 1909, in Emporia. He is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Gerald, of Wichita; one daughter, Mrs. Herman (Dorothy) Korte, Enumclaw, Wash., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by one son, Donald; one brother, Walter, and two sisters, Mattie Shiflet and Nellie Templeman.
