Description	:	JOHN ARTHUR QUINN John Arthur Quinn, the oldest son of George and Vesta (Ziebell) Quinn, was born northwest of Oxford, Nebraska on November 25, 1912 and died in Oxford, Nebraska on July 5, 1989 at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 10 days. John attended Buffalo School District No. 17 and District No. 98 and graduated from Oxford High School with the Class of 1930. He then farmed until entering the U. S. Army in 1942. John attended Buffalo School District No. 17 and District No. 98 and graduated from Oxford High School with the Class of 1930. He then farmed until entering the U. S. Army in 1942. He was honorably discharged in 1946. John returned to farming until starting work for the City of Oxford as an operator of the city light plant. This was a position he held for about 25 years. He was residing in Oxford at the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his passing two brothers: Howard Quinn and his wife, Ruth, of Oxford and George Quinn and his wife, Carol Ann, also of Oxford; and one sister, Hazel Shay and her husband, Edward, of Oxford. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Services were conducted from the Mitchell-Nelson Funeral Home, Oxford, NE on Monday, July 10, 1989 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Music was furnished by Kim Wilsey. Pallbearers were Richard Quinn, John E. Quinn, Lee Christensen, Kendal Oerter, George Quinn III and Gerald Haffey. Interment was in the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, NE with military rites by the Oxford Veteran's Organization. Mitchell-Nelson Funeral Home, Oxford, NE was in charge of arrangements.
