He farmed for many years and later worked at the Gaffney Sake Barn in Storm Lake 17 years Surviving are his widow, Pearl, three sons, Harlan of Marathon; Marvin of Seattle, Washington, and Dr. Arlo Samuelson of Laurens; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Carl of Spencer; a sister, Mrs. Art (Olea) Knudtson of Sioux Rapids and his 96 year old mother in law, Mrs. Iona Jones of Sioux Rapids He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and a sister in infancy Sliefert Funeral Home of Marathon was in charge of arrangements Northwest Morning Herald, Spencer, Clay County, Iowa May 5, 1979
