Description	:	John August Peterson, formerly of Greeley, Nebraska passed away y at the his daughter, Mrs August Burke in Genoa, Saturday at 1 p.m. Complications of old age caused his death. Funeral services were held Sunday morning in Genoa and at the Swedish Lutheran Church in Greeley Sunday afternoon. Rev. gustafson of Genoa conducted the services at both churches. Mr. Peterson, a native of Sweden was born April 28, 1856. He was 79 years old. He came to this country when he was 26 years old and settled in Iowa. In 1884 he moved to Edgar, Nebraska where he married Miss Sophia Gabriel in 1884. Two years later Mr & Mrs Peterson moved to a farm northeast of Greeley. Mrs. Peterson died about 20 years ago. After his wife's death Mr. Peterson made his home with his son the August Peterson until 1926. Since then he has been living at the home of his daughter Mrs. August Burke of Genoa. The deceased is survived by four children, seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The children are: Mrs. August Burke of Genoa, Mrs Frank Noonan of Spalding, Mrs Joe Murphy of Columbus and Ernest of California. Mr. Peterson had been in failing health for the past two years and seriously ill for the last weeks. He was always active. When he moved to Genoa in insisted on working and found employment as caretaker of a hospital. Mr. Peterson was well and favorably know here. He was a kind Neighbor and liked by everyone.
