Trooper James Lough of the Rockville state police barrack said Hersberger was driving west along Md. 28 at an excessive rate of speed. The car ran off the road and crashed head on into the Seneca Creek Bridge. The force of impact threw the motor of the car into the Seneca Creek, and the right front wheel of the car ended up in the center of the front seat. Both youngsters were pinned in the car. The 1962 convertible Hersberger was driving was demolished. Hersberger is survived by his parents, John A. Hersberger Sr. and Mrs. Cecilia Hersberger, and a sister, Barbara Jean, at home. Funeral services for Hersberger will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hilton Funeral Home in Barnesville. Burial will be in Monocacy Cemetery at Beallsville. Moore, a student at Poolesville Junior High School, is survived by his parents, Alvin and Elizabeth Moore; three brothers: Earl, George and Ralph, and three sisters: Linda, Diane and Mrs. Sue Demory, all of Poolesville. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Poolesville Presbyterian Church with burial in Monocacy Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today and tomorrow.
