John Austin Spahr was born July 12, 1861, at Harrisburg, Penn., and passed away January 18, 1937, at the home of his son, Cloid in Seward, Nebraska, where he had made his home the past two years; at the age of seventy-five years. John Austin Spahr was born July 12, 1861, at Harrisburg, Penn., and passed away January 18, 1937, at the home of his son, Cloid in Seward, Nebraska, where he had made his home the past two years; at the age of seventy-five years. When he was sixteen years of age he moved to Fairmont, Nebraska. On Sept. 28, 1881, he was married to Elizabeth Alberta Hall of Fairmont, who preceded him in death in 1927. To this union were born eight children, the eldest, Elmer, died at the age of three years. The remaining children are: Mrs. Ross Dorrance of Fairmont, Cloid Spahr of Seward; Mrs. Charles Matheny of Arlington, Virginia; Chester Spahr of Burlington, Colo.; Thelma Peterson of Loveland, Colorado; and Frank Spahr of Lushton, Nebr. He leaves to mourn his loss, seven children and twelve grandchildren. ALSO IN THE SAME PAPER: Austin Spahr died in Seward, Monday, January 18, following a brief illness. Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Dorrance drove to Seward Tuesday. The funeral will be held this afternoon at two o'clock, from the Fairmont Methodist church, with Rev. Robert L. Embree officiating.
