Description	:	John B. Marcum, 69, a pioneer music dealer of El Dorado, passed away at eight o'clock Monday morning, March 2, after a year's illness with Bright's disease. Funeral service will be held from the Presbyterian church at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, Reverend John W. Everds officiating. Interment will be made in the west cemetery. Many people in Butler county are grieved to know of Mr. Marcum's death and extend the most sincere sympathy to the bereaved. He was a good man and will be missed in many places. ... Read More	John B. John Marcum was born in Lawrence county, Ohio, June 6, 1844. He moved with his parents to Indiana when a young man and was there married to Miss Rebecca Kendall who died many years ago. To this union was born one child who died in infancy. Mr. Marcum came to Kansas in 1871 and was married to Miss Emma C. Linebarger January 14, 1882. His wife and four children survive him. The children are Mrs. Ross Mundell of Chinook, Montana; Joseph E. Marcum, Lena A. and Sarah M. Marcum of El Dorado. One daughter, Hazel Juanita, died December 30, 1908. He is also survived by one brother and one sister, E.R. Marcum and Mrs. Bertha Perkins, both of Sabetha. Mr. Marcum was for many years a member of the United Brethren church and afterward united with the Presbyterian church of which he was a member when he died. J.E. McCulley said of Mr. Marcum today, "I have had several conversations with Mr. Marcum in the last few months in regard to his religious experience and am glad to say that I am sure he died in the assurance of faither and with a confident hope of a blessed immortality."
