Harrison, 74, longtime resident of the Homer-Stratford community, died Monday at Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient the past three weeks. Scrivner of Vincent officiating with burial in Oakwood cemetery at Stratford. John Benjamin Harrison, son of Elijah and Mary Harrison, was born Jan. 20, 1881, on a farm near Boone. He was three years old when he moved with his parents near Homer where he was reared and educated. He was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Williams on Feb. 10, 1915. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison farmed in Webster township near Homer. Surviving are his wife, one son and a daughter: John Elvin Harrison of Dayton; and Mrs. Norman (Irene) Gordon of Webster City; five grandchildren; Phillip, Roger and Bruce Gordon, Sharon and Sallie Harrison; one brother, W.H. Harrison of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two half-sisters and two half-brothers. Mr. Harrison was a Webster township trustee and was a longtime member of the Homer Methodist church.
