His brother, Isaac Best, married Phebe Catherine Ricker. John and Polly had several children, Leander Madison, Sarah, Marsee J. John W, Louisa J.. They moved to Madison Co. Indiana, then to Clayton Co. Iowa, then to Norfolk Nebraska where he took up a homestead three miles west of Norfolk. He somehow acquired the nickname of "Uncle Johnnie" |
