FOULK John C. Foulk, of near Emden, son of Mr. Foulk, Sr., and brother to Wm. and Logan Foulk, of this city, died at Emden, Oct. 29th [sic], after a lingering illness of cancer of the face. Foulk died at his home near Emden on Tuesday morning, October 28, after a lingering illness of cancer of the face. He was born in Pennsylvania Feb. 13, 1856, and was in his 63rd year. He came to Shelby county about 40 years ago and for 20 years lived east of Shelbina, moving from there to the Emden neighborhood where he remained until his death. --In 1887 he was married to Miss Amanda Knox, daughter of John Knox of east of Shelbina. To this union were born four children, all of whom are living and were at his bedside when the end came. They are: Omer E., Harmon E., Dewey L, and Goldie, all of this county, the latter two living at home. --Mr. Foulk had been a sufferer from cancer for the past three years which gradually undermined his health and during the past year the disease reached the advanced stage. --Deceased was a member of the Oak Dale Methodist church and also a member of the M. W. A. lodge of Emden. The funeral is to be held today at 2 p.m. at the Baptist church at Emden, conducted by Rev. Moore of Hunnewell. Burial in the Emden cemetery.
