Description	:	John D. King, 69, of Edgar, was killed sometime last Thursday afternoon when his tractor overturned at his farm south of Edgar. The accident is believed to have occurred about mid-afternoon and was discovered around 6:30 p.m. Since he was along in the field at the time the circumstances surrounding the accident are not known. King, 69, of Edgar, was killed instantly in a tractor accident at his farm five miles southeast of Edgar, last Thursday afternoon. He was the father of Mrs. E.E. Chard of Superior. Mr. King had been operating a tractor, doing some work with go-dig, at his farm, which is operated by his son-in-law, Merlin Greer. Mr. Greer had been working at another farm, and when he returned home in the evening noticed that his father-in law had not returned from the field. Mr. Greer went out to investigate and found the tractor about a quarter mile from the house, upside down, with the driver pinned underneath. The front end of the machine had gone up and the machine turned over backward. He had been dead about three hours, the doctors said. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Lila Chard of Superior, Miss Reta King of North Platte, and Mrs. Mary Greer of Edgar, and one son, Max King of Collingswood, N. J. Mr. King had lived nearly all of his life in the Edgar vicinity where he was well known and highly respected. The funeral service was held Monday at 2:30 p.m., and burial was at Edgar.
