Hattan, daughter of Mark L. and Mary Jane Hattan, youngest of a family of eleven children was born February 4, 1885, and departed this life March 28, 1932, at the age of 47 years, 1 month and 24 days. Hattan, daughter of Mark L. and Mary Jane Hattan, youngest of a family of eleven children was born February 4, 1885, and departed this life March 28, 1932, at the age of 47 years, 1 month and 24 days. On June 19, 1907, she was united in marriage to John D. King and to this union were born four children, Lila, Max, Reta and Mary, Ellen, all at home. She attended school at the Marshall School, district No.7, and was graduated from the Edgar High School in 1903. She taught three years at the home school. She united with the Christian Church at Edgar at an early age and was a faithful and devoted member until the time of her death. She leaves to mourn besides her husband and children, two sisters, Mrs Hattie Caldwell and Mrs. Effie Thomas; three brothers, Elmer, John and James Hattan; three nieces and five nephews, all of Edgar. Her mother, father, two sisters and three brothers have preceded her in death. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed in the home as well as in the church and neighborhood. During her illness Mrs. King was a patient, sufferer to the end. Beyond this vale of tears, There is a life above Unmeasured by the flight of years, And all that life is love. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Christian Church in Edgar, by Rev, Meyers of Wymore; Nebr. The concourse of neighbors and friends at the last sad rights spoke eloquently of the high regard in which the deceased was held. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
