He was born on September 21, 1929, in Marysville, Kansas, to the late Henry Jackson and Nerie Gertrude Fredericks Lynch. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1947, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska in 1954, and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Management from the University of San Francisco in 1976. He was born on September 21, 1929, in Marysville, Kansas, to the late Henry Jackson and Nerie Gertrude Fredericks Lynch. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1947, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska in 1954, and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Management from the University of San Francisco in 1976. He also attended graduate studies at San Francisco State College and the University of California. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, Professional Business Society; the University of Nebraska Alumni and the Washington Cornhuskers Puget Sound Chapter; the University of San Francisco MBA Alumni; and the Key Man Society of San Francisco. He served in Germany with the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant during the Berlin Air Lift. He was honorably discharged in 1950 after three years of service. During his business career, he held 12 professional licenses and was affiliated with Shell Oil, Wilmington, California; International Harvester, Oakland, California; American President Lines, San Francisco, California; Walston and Company, San Francisco; and American Savings and Loan, San Francisco. He received a commendation for Outstanding Performance as a Ship’s Purser from American President Lines and was awarded “Outstanding Community Service” by the Key Man Society of San Francisco. After retiring in 1990, he moved to San Diego, California, and in 1992, moved to the Seattle area. In 2008 he moved to Prescott, Arizona, where he lived until his death. Jack enjoyed civic and community volunteer work. He was Chairman of the San Francisco Jaycees Speaker Committee; Chairman of the 1959 Miss San Francisco Pageant; Director for the California League for the Handicapped, 1962-63; Recruiter for the University of Nebraska Athletic Scholarship Program, 1968-1973, during the era of football coach Bob Devaney and his assistant, Dr. Tom Osborne; Director of Fundraising for the “Tucker for Mayor” campaign, Oakland, California, 1977, where he raised the largest amount of funds in the city’s history; Director for TEAM Singles, a social and charitable society in Marin County, California, 1986-1987; and Director for the Pacesetters, a social society in the Seattle area, 1999-2000. Jack was a man with a great sense of humor and his professional manner made him an important influence with his peers. His greatest satisfaction was being supportive, kind and faithful to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Frederick; parents; sisters Katheryn and Helen; and son, David. He is survived by his brother James, daughter Christina, and four grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Lee Dam Center for Fine Art, 201 South Ninth Street, Marysville, KS 66508. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at the Lee Dam Center for Fine Art on April 22nd, 2017, at 3pm, with a short reception following. Cremation graveside burial will be at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska, for his immediate family. Marysville Advocate \| April 6, 2017
