Description	:	John Edward Ward John Edward Ward, prominent retired resident of Mariner's passed away at his home at about 4 o'clock Sunday morning. Death came as the result of a complication of diseases. He was 77 years of age at the time of his death. The son of the late John Thomas Ward and Ellen Ward, a well-known family in the Mariner's neighborhood as well as in Crisfield, he was a hardworking, honest and upstanding citizen. Read More	John Edward Ward John Edward Ward, prominent retired resident of Mariner's passed away at his home at about 4 o'clock Sunday morning. Death came as the result of a complication of diseases. He was 77 years of age at the time of his death. The son of the late John Thomas Ward and Ellen Ward, a well-known family in the Mariner's neighborhood as well as in Crisfield, he was a hardworking, honest and upstanding citizen. Just before his retirement several years ago, he was a valued employee of the A. B. Cochrane Company, in this city and prior to that he held a responsible position for a number of years with the railroad company. The deceased had been in poor health and under the doctor's care, intermittently, since last fall but had been confined to his bed only for the past three weeks. He leaves a host of friends to grieve his passing. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Sterling, of Crisfield and Mrs. Addie Mason, of Baltimore; one son, John T. Ward, of this city, and two brothers, James Ward, of the Lawsonia section and Brinell Ward, who resides at Mariner's. Funeral services were held from the home at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. W. C. Mumford, pastor of the Mariner's M. P. Church, in charge. Pall bearers were W. Edgar McCready, Lloyd McCready, Whelton McCready, Nat Gates, Jr., Alonzo Howard, Maxwell McCready. Interment was in the Mariner's Cemetery. Ward, was inadvertently omitted from the names of the survivors. The Times regrets this omission.
