Mr. McKinlay had been in a serious condition for several days and had been sick for about ten days prior to his passing. Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 21 June 1933 John Frederick McKinlay John Frederick McKinlay, of Carter, died at a Great Falls hospital Tuesday evening at 11:43 p.m., death being due to acute yellow atrophy. Mr. McKinlay had been in a serious condition for several days and had been sick for about ten days prior to his passing. He was well known and highly respected in the Carter section where he had resided since 1917. His passing will be mourned by a large circle of friends as well as by surviving relatives. John Frederick McKinlay was born at Melville, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry McKinlay, on March 6, 1859, and passed away June 13, 1933, being 74 years, three months and seven days of age. He spent his early life in and near Melville, Iowa, and came to Montana in 1911, settling in Buffalo. He was united in marriage on Sept. 26, 1888, to Miss Elizabeth Truesdale at West Union, Iowa, and to this union three sons and two daughters were born, all of whom with the wife survive him: I. L. McKinlay, Carter; Mrs. George Varney, Buffalo; Howard D. McKinlay, Buffalo; Lloyd I. McKinlay and Berdina McKinlay, Carter. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. O. M. Collins of Clarkston, Wash., and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from the Louther chapel on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Edwin Dover, pastor of the Methodist church at Choteau. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
