Description	:	John G. "Butch" Marker passed away on June 11, 2006, at home with his loving family beside him, after a long illness. He was born March 28, 1922, to Henry and Anna (Besel) Marker in Waterville, WA. He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1940, and served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He married Margie L. Ford on January 28, 1951, and together they raised their children on the family orchard. Early on, he had owned and operated a Chevron Gas Station and had also worked for Valley Tractor. He was born March 28, 1922, to Henry and Anna (Besel) Marker in Waterville, WA. He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1940, and served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He married Margie L. Ford on January 28, 1951, and together they raised their children on the family orchard. Early on, he had owned and operated a Chevron Gas Station and had also worked for Valley Tractor. For the majority of his career, he worked at Tree Fruit Research Center in Wenatchee as an Engineering Technician, retiring in 1985. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margie; four children and their spouses, Mike and Rise' Marker of East Wenatchee, Jerry and Beth Marker of Bonney Lake, Kathy and Larry Lippert of Peshastin, and Patti and Don Moser of East Wenatchee; six grandchildren, Angela Marker, Shilo Marker, Jeremy Marker, Jennifer Kiggans, Jessica Lippert, Matthew Lippert, Austin Moser, Shawn Moser; and five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Fred Marker, Kenneth Marker; a sister, Evelyn Fischer, all of East Wenatchee; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah; his parents; a sister, Clara Schorzman; and his brothers, William Marker and Harold Marker. Services will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley on Thursday, June 15, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Those who wish may make a memorial in his name to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Central Washington Hospital. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
