Description	:	William H. "Bill" Marker, 78, of East Wenatchee, died peacefully in the Cashmere Convalescent Center from complications of a stroke on Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998. Bill was born at Withrow, on August 27, 1920 to Henry and Anna (Besel) Marker. he moved with his family to Waterville, then to Twisp. A short time later he returned to Waterville. Bill was born at Withrow, on August 27, 1920 to Henry and Anna (Besel) Marker. he moved with his family to Waterville, then to Twisp. A short time later he returned to Waterville. In 1936 the family moved to East Wenatchee. He graduated from Wenatchee High School class of 1940. On Nov. 22, 1941 he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps at Seattle, serving three years overseas with the 17th Depot Repair Squadron. He received his honorable discharge Dec. 5, 1945 at Ft. Lewis. He married Marie Kaiser, Aug. 3, 1952 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wenatchee. Bill was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in East Wenatchee. He enjoyed reading the Bible and sharing Bible prophesy with others. After his discharge from the service Bill worked as a carpenter and welder on dams and other construction jobs in the local area. He was a member of the local Carpenters and Joiners Union. He also owned and operated a small orchard. Bill liked to garden and make bird houses. In his younger years he waterskied and snowmobiled. He enjoyed showing others how to waterski. He also attended local sporting events. Survivors include his wife of the home; three brothers, Fred (Edith), John (Margie), Kenneth (Pearl) Marker all of East Wenatchee; one sister, Evelyn (Elsmer) Fisher of East Wenatchee; two sisters-in-law, Louise (Glenn) Woods of East Wenatchee; and Mildred Marker of Bellevue, CO; his aunt, Elsie Besel of Waterville; and his uncle Fred and Aunt Martha Besel also of Waterville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, one niece and one brother-in-law. Funeral services will be held, Monday, Dec. 7, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 171 Eastmont Ave., East Wenatchee with Pastor Bernard Huesmann officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Viewing will be held today until 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home and prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of choice. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
