Read More	Patterson, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Samuel Neill, near Villisca Iowa, Wednesday, August 21, 1895, John Patterson, aged 77 years, 6 months, 9 days., The deceased was born in Scotland and while in the prime of his manhood crossed the water with is family to seek a home in the New World. He located near Berlin, Wisconsin where he resided till the year of 1867, when he removed to Nodaway, Iowa. He has since resided in or near this place till the time of his death. His devoted wife preceded him twelve years ago, since which time he has resided with his children, three loving daughters, who now mourn his loss. "Grandpa Patterson" was a kind father, a fried to every one and beloved by all who knew him. He suffered log and patiently with a disease of the kidney, yet never murmured nor complained. He was of Cumberland Presbyterian faith and died his peace made with God. The funeral services were conducted at the home of Thursday at ten o’clock by Rev. A. Y. Cupp of Carbon, assisted by Rev. Redburs of Villisca. Card Of Thanks We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to the loving friends and thoughtful neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the illness and death of our dear father. Neil, formerly of Douglas Township, at the residence of the latter, aged 77 years, 6 months, and 9 days. Father Patterson was held in high esteem by the large concourse of people that gathered at the funeral, was conducted by the writer assisted by Rev. W. B. Redburn of the M. E. Church.
