JOHN HARVEY TRACY John Harvey Tracy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Tracy, was born at Roseville, Ohio on Sept. 5, 1863. Early in his life the family moved to Illinois and when he was nine they came to Pawnee county and purchased a farm one and one-half miles south of Pawnee City. He attended the Pawnee county schools and the Pawnee academy. While a young man John Harvey went to western Nebraska where he taught in the Stratton schools. He married Margaret Ellen Newcomb on June 1, 1890. In February , 1904 the family moved to Pawnee City. He affiliated with the Christian Church and served as its treasurer for many years. He was always interested in school and civic affairs and for a number of years was city treasurer. When he lived at St4atto he joined the Masonic lodge on Oct 17, 1891 and he became a member of the Pawnee lodge Jan. 19, 1909. His 50 years as a Mason was recognized on Oct. 21, 1941 by the presentation of the 50 year Masonic pin. He leaves to mourn his passing a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Huston, a son Ralph, his sister, Mrs. J. M. Dickinson; four grandsons; three great-grandsons and a host of friends whom he loved. Tracy, John H. was 46, born in Ohio, married 19 yrs. his wife, Maggie E. 38, born in Illinois, married 19 yrs., 2 children/ 2 living. Son, Ralph 16, born in Nebraska. Daughter, Blanche 5, born in Nebraska.
